Listening English
Listening is an important part of communication. If you do not understand what the other person is saying, then you will not know how to respond. Listening to as much English as you can will help you to improve your level of understanding and you'll also improve your speaking and pronunciation.
Word on the Street
Are you an intermediate (level B1) or upper intermediate (level B2) learner of English? Practise and improve your reading, listening and writing skills with list of audio resources and transcripts. Also, you can learn about the UK and its culture by listening our Word on the Street audio series.
One of the first things you’ll notice when learning a language is the speed at which natives speak. Even if you understand words written on the page, when you hear them spoken at full speed by a native speaker you can feel like you’re listening to a confusing collection of random sounds.
This programs use a basic vocabulary of 1500 words and slower speed (about 90 words per minute, or half the normal speaking speed). It is easier for people to understand, no matter where in the world they live
